Focus on Your Treatment, Let Us Take Care of the Rest
Since 1994, Open Arms has sought to assist patients and their families with the help they need, when they need it. Open Arms homes are located throughout many of MAA's numerous communities in the United States.
Meet Colette and her family, who stayed with MAA through the Open Arms program.
When Colette was two, doctors found an aggressive tumor that needed quick care. Colette's case manager social worker was able to offer Colette and her family an Open Arms home to live in at no cost while Colette was undergoing treatment and recovery.
There is nothing I can say to adequately express my appreciation for the staff. Had it not been for your Open Arms unit, the comfort I knew I would find there, the quality of the unit and your employees, the support I was given by the staff, I could have been in an even worse situation. But, I knew every day that I left the hospital that I was going 'home', and that made all the difference! You do a wonderful thing with the Open Arms unit. I thank you from the bottom of my heart, and the depth of my soul!

Open Arms Homes
Open Arms homes are fully-furnished, two-bedroom, first-floor apartments stocked with linens, kitchen items, and other miscellaneous necessities. The entire rent, along with basic utilities, are paid for by MAA and the Open Arms Foundation. The minimum stay in an Open Arms home is one month, and the maximum stay is up to two years, as long as the patient is continuing to undergo active medical treatment. Guests must be referred to Open Arms homes through their treatment facility. If you are interested in staying in an Open Arms home, please contact your case manager at the treatment center where you will be receiving treatment, or Contact Us. The Open Arms Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-deductible charity chartered by the state of Tennessee which is materially funded by MAA and its associates.
